Virginia Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling on Tuesday unveiled the “Virginia is for Lovers” iPhone app , which will allow visitors to peruse more than 12,000 listings of hotels, restaurants, wineries, and other state attractions.
“Technology plays an important role in tourism marketing and new developments like these are key to keeping visitors traveling throughout our state,” Bolling said Tuesday. “Virginia’s new iPhone app will help … travelers who increasingly use technology while planning and taking vacations.”
Bolling unveiled the new application in partnership with the Virginia Tourism Corporation.
The state celebrated the 40th anniversary of the iconic “Virginia is for Lovers” slogan in 2009, and the Virginia Tourism Corporation was recently honored for its marketing work related to the anniversary.
