AOC rips Marjorie Taylor Greene over ‘dumb blonde’ joke

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez fired back at Republican congressional candidate Marjorie Taylor Greene over a tweet mocking the New York Democrat’s intellect.

Greene, a candidate from Georgia who drew controversy after remarks about the baseless QAnon conspiracy theory, posted a tweet on Sunday morning attacking Ocasio-Cortez, which prompted the freshman legislator to hit back on Monday.

“As a blonde woman, I would like to take a moment to thank Congresswoman @AOC. She has single handily put an end to all ‘dumb blonde’ jokes,” Greene tweeted. “Blondes everywhere appreciate your service and your sacrifice!”

Ocasio-Cortez, a member of the left-wing “Squad,” highlighted Greene’s spelling error in her response.

“Don’t worry Mrs. Greene, I completely understand why you need to swing + miss at my intellect to make yourself feel better. You seem to have some trouble spelling your own insults correctly. Next time try ‘single-handedly,’ it’ll work better,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

“Good luck writing legislation!” she added.

Greene emerged victorious in the GOP nomination for Georgia’s 14th Congressional District in August and soon attracted attention for her remarks about QAnon, a movement that believes President Trump is working to defend the country from a cabal of child-eating cannibals.

Greene has since distanced herself from the conspiracy theory.

“I was just one of those people, just like millions of other Americans, that just started looking at other information,” Greene said. “And so, yeah, there was a time there for a while that I had read about Q, posted about it, talked about it, which is some of these videos you’ve seen come out. But once I started finding misinformation, I decided that I would choose another path.”

Trump has referred to Greene as a “future Republican Star” and touted her as “a real WINNER.”
