A 17-year-old Howard County boy was fatally shot Wednesday night in the basement of a Jessup house, Howard police said Thursday morning.
The teen was killed about 9:21 p.m. in the 8100 block of Sheffield Court where he was visiting a 22-year-old male resident of the house, police said.
The two friends were in the basement of the house when a gun was fired, police said.
The victim sustained a single fatal wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are still determining the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Police are withholding the victim’s name until his family is notified.
The identity of the 22-year old is also being withheld until the investigation is complete.
