White House press secretary Jen Psaki downplayed concerns regarding the “Let’s go Brandon” chant, contending political civility had improved since President Joe Biden’s inauguration.
“I don’t think he spends much time focused on it or thinking about it,” Psaki told reporters Friday when asked about the slogan, a stand-in for “F*** Joe Biden.”

Psaki, during her first briefing after testing positive for COVID-19, cited the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure deal as an example of Biden working across the political aisle.
“He wants to govern for all Americans. He’s going to deliver for all Americans, as is evidenced by the infrastructure bill that he is going to sign on Monday,” she said. “That’s going to help expand broadband to everyone, no matter your political party, no matter whether you voted for him or not. That’s going to replace lead pipes, make sure kids have clean drinking water, whether you’re a Democrat or Republican or not political at all. That’s how he’s going to govern.”
The “Let’s go Brandon” chant has grown in popularity after an NBC sports broadcaster misheard fans during a September interview with NASCAR race driver Brandon Brown. It has been deployed by a range of high-profile Republicans from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and one of his state’s senators, Ted Cruz, as well as Reps. Lauren Boebert of Colorado and Jeff Duncan of South Carolina.
The White House was still determining which Republicans will be attending the infrastructure deal signing, according to Psaki. Biden was also considering an infrastructure coordinator from outside the administration to avoid wasteful spending, she said.
