Loudoun setting up sobriety checkpoint Friday night

Loudoun County’s Sheriff’s Office will be out in force Friday night conducting a sobriety checkpoint.

Law enforcement will hold the checkpoint somewhere in eastern Loudoun County from 10 p.m. Friday until 3 a.m. Saturday. The Sheriff’s Office conducts one sobriety checkpoint per month, but holds additional checkpoints during holidays.

Members of the Sheriff’s Auxiliary Unit and volunteers from Mothers Against Drunk Driving will be there to assist.

“Our ultimate goal is to ensure the roads are safe for all motorists by achieving voluntary compliance with the drinking and driving laws,” said Loudoun County Sheriff Steve Simpson. “If you drink and drive, we’re going to catch you.”
