President Trump claimed White House staff do not ignore his orders after special counsel Robert Mueller’s redacted report detailed instances of his staff refusing to carry out his demands.
“Nobody disobeys my orders,” Trump told reporters Monday.
The 448-page document released by the Justice Department on Thursday showed numerous instances of Trump’s aides refusing to comply with his orders to end the special counsel’s investigation.
“The President’s efforts to influence the investigation were mostly unsuccessful, but that is largely because the persons who surrounded the President declined to carry out orders or accede his requests,” Mueller’s report said.
Trump also said he is “not even a little bit” concerned about being impeached.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has brushed off the option of impeaching Trump, but some members of her caucus have called for Trump’s removal from office. Whether or not the House moves to impeach Trump, a conviction in the Republican-controlled Senate is unlikely.
