An Oklahoma Highway Patrol officer’s vehicle escaped with more than just a scratch after a vulture “smashed” into the front windshield on Friday, authorities said.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Department of Public Safety tweeted a photo on Monday showing a busted windshield and an interior shot of the police vehicle with feathers scattered across the passenger seat and floor.

The vehicle belonged to OHP Trooper Tony Harper, according to the department.
“[Harper] said it sounded like a gunshot going off inside his unit as glass and feathers went everywhere,” the department tweeted.
