Happy throwback: McDonald’s Happy Meal to feature Hamburglar and other figures


The McDonald’s drive-thru is ready for a trip down memory lane.

The fast-food restaurant’s nostalgic mascots, including Hamburglar, Grimace, and Birdie, will be featured in a new adult Happy Meal for a limited time.

Beginning Oct. 3, customers can order either a Big Mac or a 10-piece chicken McNuggets, along with a drink and fries. The new Happy Meal is a collaboration between the streetwear brand Cactus Plant Flea Market and McDonald’s.

McDonald’s will feature a Happy Meal for adults with one of four collectible figurines inside, including Grimace®, the Hamburglar®, and Birdie®, as part of a collaboration with Cactus Plant Flea Market.


“We’re taking one of the most nostalgic McDonald’s experiences and literally repackaging it in a new way that’s hyper-relevant for our adult fans,” said Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s chief marketing and digital officer, in a press release.

The Happy Meal will be served in a special box intended to remind customers of days gone by.

Along with the classic McDonald’s mascot figurines, a new one named Cactus Buddy will also be featured.

The Cactus Plant Flea Market Happy Meal will be available until Oct. 30.
