Clinton campaign manager: Too many emails to verify WikiLeaks dump

Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager said Wednesday that they won’t attempt to verify a series of hacks allegedly targeting the email accounts of top staffers.

Robby Mook said in an interview with MSNBC’s Chuck Todd that the Clinton campaign doesn’t have time to verify whether WikiLeaks actually hacked campaign chairman John Podesta’s personal email, account. He explained that the notorious hacking group had released simply too much material for them to verify.

WikiLeaks is “selectively leaking materials at a rate that is impossible for us to validate them for exactly the purpose of calling things into question what really happened who said what is this true is this not true,” Mook said.

“We’re not going to verify any of these right now because, again, they’re coming thousands a day. It’s simply too much for us to do that,” he added.

The Clinton campaign and its surrogates have avoided answering question about the hacks by saying they’re not sure whether the emails are real.
