The Fairfax County Animal Shelter has taken in seven dogs from the West Virginia hoarding case in which authorities rescued more than five dozen animals from a mobile home. The dogs will be ready for adoption by April 26.
Sixty dogs and eight cats were found living in feces, urine and mud. Authorities believe the animals were never let out of the home.
The dogs taken by Fairfax range from 10 weeks to 4 years of age, are likely a mix of Shetland sheepdog, corgi and chihuahua. They weigh up to 15 pounds.
