Rep. Jerry Nadler, who is chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and is leading several investigations into President Trump’s conduct, fell ill during a press conference he was hosting with New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.
The New York Democrat was attended to by medical personnel, and the room was cleared. Reporters at the press conference said he was given water, an orange, and appears to be OK.

Rep. Jerry Nadler appears to have a medical issue at de Blasio press conference. A code blue was called for the gym where we’re at. He’s still concious. He’s getting water and an orange. pic.twitter.com/go4eZEhWo9

Nadler and de Blasio were slated to speak at the news conference about speeding cameras in New York City. Nadler represents the Upper West Side of Manhattan, a liberal enclave, and parts of Brooklyn.
As House Judiciary Committee chairman, Nadler has been a virulent critic of Trump, suggesting impeachment may be necessary in light of the Mueller report’s findings on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign. Nadler would preside over any potential impeachment proceedings.
Nadler tweeted he is doing fine and thanked everyone for expressing their concern.
Appreciate everyone’s concern. Was very warm in the room this morning, was obviously dehydrated and felt a bit ill. Glad to receive fluids and am feeling much better. Thank you for your thoughts.
