Sen. Bernie Sanders wants President Trump to work with him on decreasing prescription drug prices and rebuilding the country’s infrastructure, but doesn’t see a future of progressives working with him to fix healthcare.
On MSNBC Wednesday, Sanders said Trump should stick to his campaign promises of working to lower drug prices and investing in roads, bridges, airports and other infrastructure.

Sanders said one-in-five Americans can’t pay for the prescription drugs their doctors prescribe. Trump promised to bring those prices down during the campaign and, now that the healthcare fight seems to be on hold, that’s an area Trump should pivot to, he said.
Sanders added he’s introduced legislation to put 13 million Americans to work on infrastructure projects around the country. Trump has promised $1 trillion in infrastructure investment and Sanders said his plan could accomplish Trump’s goals.
“I think that’s an area we can work together,” Sanders said.
However, reforming the healthcare system is another question.
Sanders said Trump during the campaign promised great healthcare for everyone and then subsequently threw his weight behind the House Republican plan to repeal and replace parts of the Affordable Care Act.
Sanders said that plan was flawed and wouldn’t have worked; instead, it would have hurt many Americans.
“If that’s his idea of a great healthcare program, I don’t see us working together in that area,” he said.
