D.C.’s Shaw Middle School is giving away prom dresses donated by the community all week. The Prom Dress Shop — which also offers shoes and accessories — was originally geared toward middle school students who could not afford to buy their own dresses for the school’s big dance. Thanks to a deluge of donations, the shop’s hours have been extended and it is open to high school students, too. Stop by and shop for free from 3:30 to 5 p.m. this week at Shaw Middle School at 2001 10th St NW. — Lisa Gartner
