Washington-area adults and youngsters will hit the streets of downtown D.C. for the Race & Festival for World Peace on Saturday.
The 5K event begins at 9 a.m. at Pennsylvania Avenue and 21st Street NW, with a Kids Fun Run beginning at 10 a.m. Online registration is closed, but interested participants can register onsite Saturday morning with fees of $35 for adults and $20 for youth.
A World Culture Festival offering music, food, activities and performers from various cultures will follow runs, which benefit Sister Cities International, a nonprofit that focuses on strengthening international relations between communities.
