One person was killed on a single vehicle crash on the Dulles Access Road on Monday morning, authorities said.
A SuperShuttle van transporting three passengers was driving east from the Washington Dulles International Airport at around 7:30 a.m. when the vehicle struck a conrete barrier, said Rob Yingling, spokesman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.
One passenger was ejected from the van onto the highway and killed, Yingling said.
Two other passengers were taken to area hospitals.
Police have charged the driver of the van, Macadolf Hoffman, 59, with reckless driving. The investigation is continuing.
The access lane has since been reopened.
