Ad: Firing Mueller, Rosenstein would make Trump look ‘weak, petty, and impotent’ to supporters

The Swamp Accountability Project, an organization supportive of the Russia investigation, released an ad late Monday featuring a Trump supporter who claims firing special counsel Robert Mueller and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein would make him look “weak, petty, and impotent.”

The self-described Trump supporter claims in the ad, which will appear on “Fox & Friends” and “Hannity” in the Bedminster, N.J., media market where President Trump is staying this week, claims he cast his ballot for the longtime businessman because he wanted a “tough” leader. But he said he is now worried what might happen if Trump were to fire Mueller and Rosenstein.

“It makes you look weak, petty, and impotent to us Trump supporters,” the man in the ad says. “We don’t want someone that’s weak, petty, or impotent. That’s why we voted for you — instead of those other guys.”

Media reports have emerged this year suggesting that Trump has considered ousting Mueller and Rosenstein.

“Don’t fire Mueller, or the deputy AG,” the man says in the ad. “Just focus on making America great again.”

The ad comes after Trump called on Attorney General Jeff Sessions to “stop” the investigation last week.

However, Sessions recused himself, and it is Rosenstein who is overseeing Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin. Trump has repeatedly denied that any collusion occurred and has denounced the probe as a “witch hunt.”
