Bethesda school vandalized, incident may be linked to others Montgomery County police found graffiti depicting a racial slur and a sexually explicit drawing at North Bethesda Middle School early Saturday morning and say the case may be linked to another recent incident of vandalism. According to the report, police responded to an alarm at 2:40 a.m. Saturday where they found the building graffiti, several broken windows and seven vandalized vehicles, including one car with “the same ethnically offensive word painted on it.”

Fatal motorcycle crash in Fairfax

One man died and two others were severely injured in the 20th fatal crash in Fairfax County this year. The accident occurred Saturday about 7 p.m. at the intersection of Braddock and Twinbrook roads when a 63-year-old woman turned left in front of two motorcycles traveling in the opposite direction. Speed and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash, according to police. The two male drivers and a female passenger were all transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where William Tyler Cowherd, 45, of Annandale, later died. A 50-year-old Manassas man and a 44-year-old Annandale woman who was riding with Cowherd are expected to survive.

Man shot in Southeast

A man was shot early Sunday morning in Southeast D.C. and remains hospitalized in stable condition. Officers responded to a call at 2:28 a.m. Sunday reporting a shooting on the 800 block of Ridge Road SE, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. The man, identified as an adult, was found suffering from a gunshot wound and transported to a local hospital. The man’s name and age were not released Sunday.
