Airbnb’s Super Bowl ad had a message of unity after President Trump’s controversial executive order on immigration.
“We believe no matter who you are, where you’re from, who you love, or who you worship. We all belong. The world is more beautiful the more you accept,” the ad says, showing a diverse group of people.
The ad aired just more than a week after Trump signed an executive order, which temporarily suspended immigration from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen for 90 days. It halted the country’s refugee resettlement program for 120 days and banned Syrian refugees from the U.S. indefinitely.
In a note to employees after Trump’s executive order, Airbnb’s chief executive Brian Chesky said he opposed the action.
“It is a direct obstacle to our mission at Airbnb,” he wrote.
