White House counselor Kellyanne Conway went after CNN’s Dana Bash for asking her about her husband’s tweets critical of President Trump in an interview Sunday morning.
Conway was appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday morning and Bash ended their interview with a question about George Conway’s recent tweets criticizing Trump. George Conway is a prominent Washington lawyer and has often tweeted criticism of Trump despite his wife being a high-profile White House aide.
Kellyanne Conway reacted with fury to the question, indignantly accusing Bash of sexism and for bringing her marriage into politics.
“It’s fascinating that CNN would go there but very good for the whole world to have just witnessed that it is now fair game what people’s — how people’s spouses and significant others may differ with them. I’m really surprised and gratified to see that,” Kellyanne Conway said in response.
“I would ask you that if you were a man,” Bash replied, to which Kellyanne Conway simply said, “No you would not.”
The interview only got more contentious from there. Watch the full exchange below:
