As part of a continuing outreach to Howard?s black community, a county gay rights group will discuss the challenges of being black and gay.
The Columbia/Howard County chapter of PFLAG ? Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays ? will host a panel to explore their experiences being part of two minorities and how they navigate racism and homophobia.
Elbridge James, director of the Maryland Black Family Alliance, has been invited to discuss the organization.
The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Owen Brown Interfaith Center, 7246 Cradlerock Way, Columbia.
