Jerry Falwell Jr.: Trump has ’emails’ to prove sex allegations untrue

Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. said on Thursday that Donald Trump told him he has email evidence proving he did not sexually harass or assault the women who have accused him of doing so.

“I talked to Mr. Trump late last night and he explained why they were not true,” Falwell told CNN on Thursday.

On Wednesday night, the New York Times and People Magazine separately reported cases in which three women claimed Trump had touched them inappropriately on occasions ranging from the 1980s to 2005.

Falwell did not disclose details about the email information the Republican nominee claimed to have, but said some of the accusers had asked the billionaire businessman for jobs afterward.

“He told me about emails he had from these accusers who wanted to work for him after the supposed event had occurred. And he told me about other email evidence that supports the fact that it didn’t happen,” said Falwell, who has overseen the Lynchburg, Va., college since his late father founded it.

The right-leaning higher education official said he believes if the women had been assaulted, one or more of them would have sued Trump.

“Donald Trump’s a billionaire. If this had happened, I have no doubt in my mind that the accusers would have brought suits many years ago,” Falwell said.

Falwell also defended Trump earlier this week after the Republican politician was caught making lewd comments about a TV host in 2005.
