Policing examined: Protests erupt across the US

After the second night of unrest in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, calls to defund, restrict, or otherwise limit police powers are regaining momentum. But it comes as others note the frequency with which victims of police violence and shootings seem not to heed police warnings to comply with arresting officers.

The death of Daunte Wright comes as the nation awaits a verdict in the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. Police forces had been gearing up for the threat of violence after the verdict. Now, a new police-involved death has heightened tensions even more. Doug McKelway has the story.
