Man dies in stabbing on N. Capital Street
A 42-year-old NE man was stabbed multiple times in an attack Friday night near D.C.’s NoMa neighborhood police said Saturday.
The stabbing took place around 9:30 p.m. Friday on the 1200 block of North Capital Street Northwest. The victim, John Wesley Griffin, was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

Fairfax County police have identified the victim of a shooting in Mount Vernon as Morgan Detroy Monroe Jr., 47, of Landover. He was found shot in his car May 16 by police responding to a noise complaint.
Officers found Monroe at the intersection of San Leandro Place and Mendocino Place. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
