Another travel provider Lyfted its mask mandate on Tuesday.
Lyft passengers can choose whether or not to wear masks, sit in the front seat, or keep the windows open, the company announced on Tuesday, one day after a judge voided the federal mask mandate for public transportation. Additionally, health safety reasons, such as not wearing a mask, will no longer appear as cancellation options in Lyft’s app when riders or drivers cancel rides, the company said.
“We know that everyone has different comfort levels, and anyone who wants to continue wearing a mask is encouraged to do so,” the company wrote.

Passengers may still be required to wear masks in some areas if required by law and are also asked not to use Lyft if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
Competitor Uber lifted its mask mandate for both passengers and drivers in the United States just hours earlier.
On Monday, a Florida judge overturned the federal mask mandate for public transportation and transportation hubs, prompting several airlines and airports to lift their mandates Monday night.
