ABERDEEN, Miss. (AP) — Chemical company Kemira is investing $13.9 million in an expansion of its dry polymer manufacturing operations in Aberdeen, Mississippi, creating six new jobs.
The announcement came Wednesday a news release from the company and the state of Mississippi.
The Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance in support of the project for railroad improvements that will increase long-term capacity of the plant. The Monroe County Board of Supervisors is providing support in the form of local tax exemptions.
Kemira Oil & Mining Vice President of Manufacturing Mike Villers says the company is examining the potential for additional product lines in the future.
Kemira, a Finnish company, Kemira purchased the Aberdeen plant from 3F Chemica last July.
