Actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish announced she is postponing her show because of Georgia’s new “heartbeat” anti-abortion law, which bans most abortions after around six weeks. Republican Gov. Brian Kemp signed the law in May, and several other governors have since signed similar legislation.
“After much deliberation, I am postponing my upcoming show in Atlanta. I love the state of Georgia, but I need to stand with women and until they withdraw Measure HB481, I cannot in good faith perform there,” Haddish said in a statement to ticket buyers, according to 11Alive.
People who bought tickets will get a refund within seven to 10 business days.
Haddish’s decision comes as many celebrities and executives have spoken out against the law, threatening to boycott the state. Georgia has been a hub for the entertainment industry, with many popular TV shows and movies filmed there.
I will be supporting the women of Georgia as we stand in solidarity for all women’s rights and hand deliver the below letter to Brian Kemp at 5pm EST this evening. I will broadcast live here on Twitter. #WeWontGoBack pic.twitter.com/gcZqlrW2kB

Over 200 CEOs signed an open letter criticizing the new anti-abortion laws in states like Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio, calling them “bad for business.”
“We, the undersigned, employ more than 108,000 workers and stand against policies that hinder people’s health, independence, and ability to fully succeed in the workplace,” the open letter states.
