Conservative commentator Glenn Beck defended his abrupt departure from an interview on CNN over the weekend, venting his frustration at host Brian Stelter for not listening to his criticisms concerning media coverage of President Trump’s zero tolerance policy toward illegal immigration and family separations at the U.S. border.
“I couldn’t take it anymore. I couldn’t take it anymore,” he said Monday on his “Glenn Beck Radio Program,” referring to his Sunday interview on CNN’s “Reliable Sources.”
“But I want you to know the reason why I walked off the show yesterday had nothing to do with the question. It had everything to do with him proving me correct every step of the way, and my time is more valuable than that. I would have rather been having breakfast with my kids,” Beck continued.
Beck walked out of his interview on Sunday after Stelter asked him about reports TheBlaze, his multimedia company, was in financial strife following reports of staff layoffs and the collapse of negotiations for its potential sale.
“I’m sitting here ready to talk to you about the detaining of children and parents and trying to break families apart,” Beck said Sunday. “It’s been happening. We want to stop it, and you want to play those games? Have a nice day.”

On Monday, Beck urged news outlets to reassess their content if they were concerned about reaching a wider audience.
“You want to know why people aren’t listening to you? Watch you’re own show. Try that,” Beck added.
