Fox News host and conservative commentator Laura Ingraham announced Wednesday she was ending her long-running syndicated radio show and will launch a new podcast.
Beginning in January, Ingraham will host a daily podcast series titled “The Laura Ingraham Show” on PodcastOne.
“Over the years, I’ve interviewed everyone from Bono to Bibi Netanyahu and have had a blast doing it,” Ingraham said in an email Wednesday to the Washington Examiner. “But listeners demanded a more flexible listening experience, and my kids need more of my time. Podcasting is where all the action is happening now, and I intend to inject my own brand of humor and substance in the national conversation with in-depth interviews, conversations and even more audience interaction.”
Ingraham hosts a daily prime-time program on Fox News, “The Ingraham Angle.” She is an outspoken supporter of President Trump.
Ingraham’s radio show was three hours in addition to her hourlong TV show, which debuted last year and tends to average upward of 2 million viewers per week, edging out the MSNBC and CNN competition.
Ingraham is also the author of several books, most recently Busting the Barricades: What I Saw at the Populist Revolt, and founder of the news website Lifezette, which has struggled to find an audience.
“While hosting a prime-time television show and raising three children on my own, continuing a three-hour morning radio show was no longer feasible,” Ingraham said in a statement sent out Wednesday by PodcastOne. “Although I will greatly miss my radio listeners and affiliates, working late nights and early mornings has taken a toll on my family life. Plus, my radio audience is smart, savvy and committed, and I know most will follow my new show in the format that is revolutionizing the audio world — digital podcasting.”
