1st Mariner recognized for Hispanic outreach

Baltimore’s 1st Mariner Bank was honored with the first Business of the Year award from Education Based Latino Outreach.

The award, called El Negocio del Año, was established to recognize the accomplishments and support offered by businesses in the Hispanic community.

“The Hispanic community is very important to us and we look forward to continuing to provide service that best meets their needs,” Edwin Hale Sr., chairman and chief executive officer of 1st Mariner Bank, said in a statement.

1st Mariner began “Banking on our Future,” a financial literacy program initiated through the nationally based Operation Hope at General Wolfe Elementary School, Baltimore City’s only predominantely Hispanic school.
