OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — A former insurance agent is asking a federal judge for speedy consideration of his motion to vacate his conviction related to an insurance scam involving Lafayette County.

Ken Nowlin of Ecru pleaded guilty in 2007 to conspiracy charges related to his role in a scheme involving Lafayette County’s health care coverage. Nowlin also paid $275,942 in restitution to Lafayette County. He was sentenced in 2008 to 30 months in prison.
