Carlos Santana wants open borders: Immigration policies are made out of ‘bulls–t fear’

Famed guitarist Carlos Santana advocated for a world without borders on Friday during his interview with CNN, saying, “The heart is the passport, and love is the currency.”

CNN anchor Poppy Harlow asked Santana what his advice to Congress and President Trump is as they debate the issue of immigration.

“Rewind your mind to the Berlin Wall coming down. When the Berlin Wall came down, we realized that fear doesn’t work. Anytime there’s a wall being erected, it’s because of people have fear collectively,” the multiple Grammy winner said. “Anytime it comes down, people invest more in love and joy than fear. And so, this wall will come down. This immigration thing eventually, people will finally realize that being patriotic is prehistoric.”

Santana said people will forgo borders when they fully realize “we really are one family” and we are all humans.

Harlow then asked if he was really advocating for a world without immigration policies, which Santana confirmed by arguing it is realistic.

“This is an illusion that will pass. Eventually, we will arrive as humans on this planet to get rid of all this B.S. illusion about, you know, there’s not enough water or not enough this for everybody. All that stuff is bullshit fear, you know … That’s realistic. This is the illusion. That’s how twisted and crooked people’s minds are. They believe this is the only — I don’t think so.”
