May is National Pet Month, and now through June 21, Beneful dog foods is asking America’s dog owners: “If you had $500,000 to spend to create the ultimate dream dog park, what would you do?” It’s Beneful’s second annual Dream Dog Park Contest. Entrants must answer the question in 250 words or fewer and submit a photo of themselves with their pooch, said Kahn, a Beneful spokeswoman. The winner will receive a $10,000 cash award a $500,000 makeover of an existing dog park in their area, so D.C. dog lovers unite! Go to benefuldreamdogpark.com. How popular is the contest?
We are very excited to invite all of the dog owners across the country to start dreaming and come up with ideas for their ultimate dog park. Last year’s contest got a couple hundred entries, and they showed that life really is better with your dog. We want contestants to dream big.
What is your goal?
Beneful is all about celebrating our lives with our dogs. Dog owners like to run errands with their dogs, whether it’s going for a walk or on vacation. It’s really their best friend. We want to give these people a practical opportunity to go to a renovated area dog park without having to go across the world.
Why so much prize money?
Because it’s a celebration. We want to have enough money so that we can really make some dreams come true. It’s actually surprising; things add up.
What about cat people?
Hopefully they will see how much fun people have with their dogs and maybe become inspired to get a dog to enhance their lives. Dog parks are very popular community-building fixtures nowadays, where you can meet like-minded people.
Why should Washington-area residents enter?
What have they got to lose?
