Brietbart, Occupy DC clash outside CPAC

District police broke up a second Occupy DC protest Friday night outside the Conservative Political Action Conference following an angry confrontation between the group and conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart, who denounced the demonstrators as “filthy, filthy, filthy, horrible freaks.”

“Stop raping people,” shouted Brietbart, who was showing his new movie about the Occupy movement at the conference.

Occupy DC protesters outside the conference debated curious CPAC attendees from behind police lines and chanted slogans for about an hour. The protest, joined by labor union members, was timed to coincide with a speech by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who has angered Democrats and unions with his attempt to weaken the state’s public employee unions.

After police pushed the protesters back away from the hotel, Brietbart made his way down a grassy embankment to confront them.

“Behave yourselves,” he shouted.

A police officer at the scene said at least one person was arrested in the melee, but a Metropolitan Police Department spokesman couldn’t immediately confirm that.
