Joy Reid blasts Rittenhouse and Kavanaugh for ‘male white tears’

MSNBC host Joy Reid compared Kyle Rittenhouse to Brett Kavanaugh in a recent TikTok video, saying that America’s “thing” for “white tears” helped both men escape accountability.

Reid has been known to make racially divisive remarks on her show The ReidOut — notably against black conservatives. But her latest slam was aimed at white men who cry.

MSNBC HOST JOY REID SAYS ‘REPUBLICANS ARE DANGEROUS’

“In America, there’s a thing about both white vigilantism and white tears, particularly male white tears. Really, white tears in general, because that’s what Karens are, right? They Karen out and then as soon as they get caught, bring waterworks. White men can get away with that too, and it has the same effect,” she said.

She also said that despite conservative claims that “wokeism” is robbing masculinity from men, “they still want to be able to have their tears.”

Rittenhouse is currently on trial for shooting three people, two fatally, during protests in the summer of 2020 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Rittenhouse claims he acted in self-defense and that he was trying to protect public safety during the riots.

Last year, Reid called Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas “Uncle Clarence,” invoking “Uncle Tom,” a derogatory name for black Americans that suggests they are too obedient toward white Americans.

Last March, Reid also suggested that South Carolina Republican Sen. Tim Scott was being used by Republicans as a “patina” for diversity.

Recently, she hosted Elie Mystal, a justice correspondent for The Nation and an MSNBC contributor, who said on her show that white people without college degrees support Republicans because they care about “using their guns on black people and getting away with it.”

Rittenhouse, 18, had an emotional breakdown during his trial last Wednesday while delivering testimony about the events that transpired during the night of the shooting in Kenosha. A number of prominent pundits in the media, including Reid, mocked him for those tears.
