The woman who accused Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., of sexual assault in 2006 said she had reason to believe there may be at least one other victim.
“People make mistakes, I’m not calling for him to step down,” she said in an interview. “That’s not my place to say that, if I’m the only one that’s come out and said ‘Senator Franken’s done something to me.’ But if there are other women who’ve come out …”
“I haven’t returned a phone call. I’ve gotten a phone call from a woman. I’ve only gotten a message and that said that something similar’s happened to her and I haven’t opened it yet,” she added.

On Thursday morning, Leeann Tweeden released a story alleging sexual assault by Franken. Her piece included a photo of Franken grabbing her breasts while she appeared to be asleep. She wrote that the incident took place in 2006 during a USO tour with him in the Middle East.
Tweeden did not say who left her the voicemail.
Separately, conservative writer Melanie Morgan came forward to allege harassment and stalking against Franken.
“Yes, it’s true. I was stalked and harassed by Al Franken. I will have details @MediaEqualizer shortly,” Morgan wrote.
The story that was printed by Media Equalizer, a company Morgan cofounded, she recalls being asked to appear as a guest alongside Franken on Bill Maher’s Politically Incorrect show on ABC. The then-ABC Radio talk host of San Francisco debated numbers released by the Office of Management and Budget with Franken, William Baldwin, and former Colorado Lt. Gov. Joe Rogers.
“I made a statement about the budget numbers, Franken challenged me, I challenged him back. It was about spending priorities, actually just a mundane discussion. But he obsessed over it,” she wrote.
Morgan said Franken continued to debate her after the show, but became increasingly argumentative.
“He approached me backstage, angrily called me out on those numbers and insisted he would prove he was right. He wouldn’t leave me alone, he kept following me. As a woman, his presence and proximity to me felt very threatening and intimidating,” she said. “I didn’t realize his creepy behavior after the show meant it would continue in the days to come.”
Morgan said Franken asked the show’s producer for her phone number. She then alleged that he began calling her at her Northern California residence.
“I became fearful and called Carol to complain and asked her to tell him to back off. But he made another call after that. I thought that he might end up stalking me at my home in Northern California, it was that bad,” she said. “By the third phone call I was outraged and terrified, as he is really disturbed.”
She threatened to call the police on him, which she said prompted him to stop contacting her.
“I never forgot that experience and it informed me of his lack of character and obsessive personality. I believe every word Leann wrote,” she wrote, adding that she would be willing to testify before Congress about his behavior.
