Locals urged to use purple lights to show Raven pride

The Baltimore Ravens are playoff-bound, and the City of Baltimore is beaming with purple pride.

Mayor Martin O?Malley and City Council President Sheila Dixon are urging local business and residents to follow their lead and illuminate their buildings with purple lights.

“We?ve done it every time our Baltimore Ravens are headed down the road to the Super Bowl,” said Raquel Guillory, press secretary for O?Malley?s office. “It?s an opportunity for the city, businesses and residents to show their support and let the team know we are behind them all the way and we are thrilled with the prospects of going back to the Super Bowl.”

The Ravens, who clinched the AFC North title, will play at the defending Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend.
