NRSC hits Hassan for oversight of New Hampshire’s ‘heroin crisis’

The National Republican Senatorial Committee is trashing New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan’s handling of the Granite State’s heroin crisis.

Hassan is the Democratic challenger looking to defeat incumbent GOP Sen. Kelly Ayotte in November.

“Maggie Hassan mismanaged the heroin crisis,” a narrator says in the NRSC’s ad. “And New Hampshire is paying the price.”

The drug epidemic in New Hampshire became a top issue on the presidential campaign trail earlier this year as a host of Republican candidates sought to leverage the issue to their advantage before the state’s primary.

GOP nominee Donald Trump continues to talk about it on the campaign trail, and it’s a local issue that could have national importance come Election Day. Voters in New Hampshire could help determine the balance of power in the U.S. Senate and may play a determinative role in the outcome of the presidential election.
