RNC: Hillary Clinton’s speech a ‘stark reminder’ why she lost

The only thing Hillary Clinton accomplished by delivering the commencement speech at Wellesley College on Friday is to remind voters why she lost to Donald Trump last year, according to the RNC.

“Today’s speech was a stark reminder why Hillary Clinton lost in 2016,” said RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. “Instead of lashing out with the same partisan talking points, Hillary Clinton would be wise to look inward, talk about why she lost, and expand the dwindling base of Democrat Party supporters – we won’t hold our breath though.”

The 2016 Democratic presidential nominee used her speech to take shots at President Trump and compare him to former President Richard Nixon, who became president the same year Clinton graduated from Wellesley in 1969.

“We were furious about the past presidential election, of a man whose presidency would eventually end in disgrace with his impeachment for obstruction of justice after firing the person running the investigation into him at the Department of Justice,” Clinton said, reflecting of how she and her fellow graduates felt when they graduated 48 years ago, and today.

Clinton also reflected on her November loss to Trump, saying she was “doing OK,” and encouraged the graduates to “try, fail, try again, lean on each other, hold on to your values, and never, never, never give up.”
