‘A damn shame’: Lou Dobbs trashes Barr for criticizing Trump’s use of Twitter

Fox Business host Lou Dobbs slammed Attorney General William Barr after he said President Trump’s Twitter use was impeding Justice Department work.

Dobbs expressed disappointment in Barr while interviewing Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton on Thursday night. Dobbs praised Trump for his agenda and for fighting the “left-wing media” and said Barr does not understand the pressure that Trump is under.

“[Trump] is keeping his promises that he made as a candidate for the office he holds. He is also expressing himself fully, freely, and directly to the American people without going through the sage intermediaries of the national left-wing media,” Dobbs said, praising Trump’s use of social media.

“I am so disappointed in Bill Barr. I have to say this. It’s a damn shame when he doesn’t get what this president has gone through and what the American people have gone through and what his charge is as attorney general,” Dobbs added.

Barr appeared on ABC News earlier on Thursday and criticized Trump’s social media presence, saying that Trump’s tweeting makes “it impossible for me to do my job.” Barr received support from top Republicans in the Senate, such as Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham. The senators urged Trump to listen to Barr’s advice.

Trump riled Democrats on Capitol Hill when he praised the Justice Department on Wednesday for intervening in the case of longtime GOP operative Roger Stone. The Justice Department announced on Tuesday that it would seek a lower penalty than prosecutors working the case had originally planned to push for, causing all four prosecutors to resign in protest.

“Congratulations to Attorney General Bill Barr for taking charge of a case that was totally out of control and perhaps should not have even been brought. Evidence now clearly shows that the Mueller Scam was improperly brought & tainted. Even Bob Mueller lied to Congress!” Trump tweeted.
