Obama tells March for Our Lives attendees: ‘Nothing’ can stand in your way

Former President Barack Obama applauded March for Our Lives attendees Saturday, encouraging the protesters to “keep at it.”

“Michelle and I are so inspired by all the young people who made today’s marches happen. Keep at it. You’re leading us forward. Nothing can stand in the way of millions of voices calling for change,” Obama tweeted.

The Obamas recently penned a letter to students of the Parkland, Fla., high school were 17 people we killed in a shooting last month.

The former president and first lady pressed the students to continue pushing for stricter gun laws despite setbacks they are likely to encounter.

“We wanted to let you know how inspired we have been by the resilience, resolve and solidarity that you have all shown in the wake of unspeakable tragedy,” they wrote. “Not only have you supported and comforted each other, but you’ve helped awaken the conscience of the nation, and challenged decision-makers to make the safety of our children the country’s top priority.”
