Megyn Kelly confronted Donald Trump over his retweeting of accounts that referred to her as a “bimbo.”
“We have an unbelievable bond,” Trump said of his Twitter followers, “we have an unbelievable relationship.”
“But you retweet some of those,” Kelly interjected, referring to the nastier social media users who’ve attacked her on behalf of the real estate mogul. “It’s not just the fans.”
“Yeah, but not the more nasty ones,” Trump said. “You would be amazed at the ones I don’t re-tweet.”
“Bimbo?” an unimpressed Kelly asked.
“Uh, well, that was a retweet, yeah,” a sheepish Trump said. “Did I say that?”
A still-unimpressed Kelly responded, “Many times.”
“Oh, okay,” Trump grinned. “Excuse me.”
There was a slight, awkward pause in their conversation.
“[It’s not] the most horrible thing – you know, again, politically – but not the most,” Trump began to stammer, “over your life, Megyn, you’ve been called a lot worse. Is that right? Wouldn’t you say? You know, you’ve had a life that’s not been that easy –”
“It’s not about me,” Kelly declared. “It’s not, it’s not about me.”
