‘Really adverse night’: Andrew Yang ‘rethinking’ whether Warren has a path forward after Super Tuesday

Former presidential candidate Andrew Yang gave a bleak analysis of Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s campaign as she struggled on Super Tuesday.

Yang, who’s become a CNN contributor since ending his campaign, said he was surprised by Warren’s poor performance in 14 states and American Samoa.

“If you’d asked me at the beginning of the day, I thought Elizabeth Warren was going to be here for the duration,” he said. “She just raised $29 million in February on the back of a couple tremendous debate performances. She has $14 million in a super PAC that’s now come in.”

“But this was a really adverse night for Elizabeth Warren, and so, I’m rethinking, even now, what her path can look like moving forward. And if you look at what happened in the other part of the candidates, Pete [Buttigieg] and Amy [Klobuchar] drop out, endorse Joe [Biden], and then their support goes to Joe. But Elizabeth seems to be heightening her contrast with Bernie instead of trying to consolidate,” Yang added.

In a foreboding sign for Warren, the senator from Massachusetts got third place in Tuesday’s contest in her home state, trailing former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
