The White House on Thursday declined to comment on allegations that Donald Trump is a sexual predator, and said President Obama isn’t likely to mention the reports in his Thursday night campaign remarks in Ohio, or ever.
Even before the latest Trump controversy, it was common knowledge that Obama opposes Trump’s policies and doesn’t think he’s suited to be president, White House spokesman Eric Schultz told reporters traveling with Obama Thursday.
“That has not just become evident over the last 24 hours, but has become evident in a long series of views and statements that we’ve seen from Donald Trump,” Schultz said. “The president’s going to go out there making the affirmative case for why Secretary Clinton’s uniquely qualified to be the next president of the United States … He also believes she’s running against someone who’s unfit for office.”
Schultz said Obama doesn’t care if he gets attacked by Trump, but said it would be another story if Trump attacked Michelle Obama.
“I can’t think of a bolder way for Donald Trump to lose even more standing than he already has than by engaging the first lady of the United States,” Schultz said.
