Phantom lion cub named

Photographers and reporters lined up outside the National Zoo’s lion exhibit Thursday morning, in below-freezing temperatures, to catch a glimpse of a furry little lion club.

But all we got was the name.

Two actors from the “Chronicles of Narnia” series were on hand to unveil the taunting poster of the cub with its name typed on it.

In honor of the series, the cub is named “Aslan,” after a major character in the movie.

Though the reporters couldn’t see the little cub, Georgie Henley and Skandar Keynes from the films gloated that they saw them.

“It’s amazing to see how well the cubs are being cared for,” Henley said.

The public introduction of the seven cubs is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 18. We’ll see.
