The FBI has publicly released its files on former Fox News executive Roger Ailes, who died in May at age 77.
The FBI created the 114-page file on Ailes before he worked for President Richard Nixon.
Tech website Gizmodo sued the FBI in August for access to the files after requesting them under the Freedom of Information Act on May 18, the day Ailes was found dead in his Florida home.
Ailes is described as a “person of good character and a loyal American” in the documents that appear to be a background check on the former cable TV executive.
One document shows Ailes was arrested for criminal possession of a weapon/bomb silencer on Nov. 10, 1974, in New York. The charge was downgraded from a felony to a misdemeanor, and Ailes pleaded guilty on Jan. 16, 1975 and received no jail time.
