How did Chicago recently honor President Obama?
A plaque was just placed at the corner of Dorchester Avenue and 53rd Street to mark the exact location where Obama, then a Harvard law student, and first lady Michelle Obama, then a Chicago lawyer, kissed for the first time. It was in 1989 in the president’s adopted hometown and the couple had just gotten ice cream at a nearby Baskin-Robbins. “It tasted like chocolate,” he said of the kiss.
This item has been corrected to reflect that Jack Evans represents Ward 2, not Ward 3.
