Chef Dean Max and his team at Watertable are the first to accept Slow Food Baltimore?s Eat In Season challenge.
Today through May 26, the restaurant on the fifth floor of Renaissance Harborplace hotel will serve a special three-course menu featuring dishes made from local, in-season or traditionally preserved ingredients.
Chef Max?s $36 prix fixe menu includes house-made Marvesta shrimp ravioli with browned South Mountain Creamery butter sauce, grilled Springfield Farms Chicken over spinach salad with M&M Meat?s bacon and phyllo-baked Firefly Farm Goat Cheese with strawberry sauce.
Watertable is located at 202 E. Pratt St. in Baltimore.
Taste Carroll, go to 30 Rock
Antrim 1844, nestled in the foot of the Catoctin Mountains, will host the ninth annual Taste of Carroll today from 6 to 9 p.m. The evening offers flavors from 23 area restaurants and six wineries, and 90 items up for bid during silent and live auctions. Notable items include one of the first footballs autographed by Ravens rookie quarterback Joe Flacco and an all-access pass to NBC?s “Today” show. The winner will tour the set, watch the broadcast from the studio at 30 Rock in New York City and meet Matt Lauer, Meredith Viera, Ann Curry and Al Roker. All proceeds from Taste of Carroll will benefit Carroll Hospice.

Every Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m., Grand Cru wine bar offers special tastings where you can meet the estate owner, winemaker or winery agent while sampling wines for free.

Bring your appetite to Howard ?Soiree?
Sample dishes from 20 of Howard County?s best restaurants 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. June 6 during “Soiree,” Howard County Tourism?s annual fundraiser.Participating restaurants include Cacao Lane, Ellicott Mills Brewing Company, Victoria?s Gastro Pub, Sweet bakery and cafe, Trapeze and Jordan?s Steakhouse.
Ten percent of event proceeds will be donated to Howard Community College?s hospitality programs. Tickets cost $75 in advance, $80 at the door.
Beyond tastings, the evening includes “Dancing with the Howard County?s Dazzling Stars” competition, and live and silent auctions.
