Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is refusing to back her party’s presumptive nominee, Hillary Clinton, showing signs that supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders aren’t ready to toe the line for a Clinton presidency.
“I am not prepared to do that,” Gabbard said in responding to Wolf Blitzer on CNN Friday to a question about whether she is ready to endorse Clinton.
“There are a lot of things that I am looking at, in particular, this issue that she has not moved on at all in this campaign, which is this commitment to continue this interventionist regime change policy in Syria that is proving to be so disastrous.”
The congresswoman from Hawaii is an ardent supporter of Sen. Sanders of Vermont, Clinton’s once rival for the Democratic nomination for president.
