Mika Brzezinski, Joe Scarborough after the Trump tweet: ‘We’re OK’

Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough assured the nation Friday that they’re both “OK” after President Trump lobbed harsh insults on Thursday at the “Morning Joe” co-hosts.

Appearing Friday on the show, Brzezinski said she and Scarborough, her fiance, were supposed to be heading to vacation but wanted to respond to Trump, who called Brzezinski “low I.Q.” and said her face was bleeding on New Year’s Eve after a face-lift.

“You know what, I think it’s been fascinating and frightening and really sad for our country,” she said. “I’ve been getting a lot of texts and hearing you all talking. Thank you. I’m fine. My family brought me up really tough. This is absolutely nothing, for me personally. But I am very concerned as to once again what this reveals about the president of the United States.”

Scarborough said he also received messages from friends. “We’re OK,” he said.

He also said Trump’s tweets Thursday about Brzezinski were sexist in nature.

“Unfortunately, we learned what we’ve always learned and that is that he for some reason takes things so much more personally with women,” he said. “He’s so much more vicious with women.”

On Thursday morning, Trump lashed out at the pair after they spent much of their show that day criticizing him.

“I heard poorly rated ‘Morning Joe’ speaks badly of me (don’t watch anymore),” Trump wrote in a pair of tweets after the MSNBC show’s co-hosts spent the better part of three hours criticizing the White House. “Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came… to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year’s Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!”
