Bernie to Be Interviewed By Jesse Jackson

Bernie Sanders will be interviewed by Jesse Jackson. Jonathan Allen reports for Sidewire’s Stitch:

Bernie Sanders will be interviewed one-on-one by the Rev. Jesse Jackson Saturday at the weekly forum of Jackson’s Rainbow/PUSH Coalition in Chicago, sources familiar with the event told Stitch. The discussion will revolve around urban policy, said one of the sources. It’s a plum opportunity for Sanders, who is trying to cut into Hillary Clinton’s advantage with African American voters before Tuesday’s primaries in Florida, Ohio, Illinois, North Carolina and Missouri and who has targeted Chicago as the big city where he might be able to do just that. Jackson, who has been trying to bring attention and action to urban renewal and voting rights, is not expected to make an endorsement of Sanders or Clinton, but Sanders could hardly ask for a better forum to make his case to black voters in Chicago. And while Jackson may not make an endorsement, Sanders’ participation in the Rainbow/PUSH forum ensures that the story of Sanders endorsing Jackson for president in 1984 and 1988 is sure to be told and re-told over the course of the next few days.
